Information Protection Security Manager

The Information Protection Security Manager will be responsible for the overall technical architecture and design of our client network security engineering and operations. In this capacity, the individual will perform discovery, business case development, and definition of client issues, and design, document and present corresponding technical solutions. Responsibilities cover security design for all major initiatives and projects related to our client Voice, Data and Contact Center-related projects. The office responsibilities also include evaluation of next-generation and complementary technologies for adoption, and the ongoing optimization of architecture and design for continuous improvement of security and cost reduction. As such, the Security Engineer should possess the knowledge and skills to design world-class solutions using leading-edge technologies.
Major Duties, strategy and core competencies
  • Experience managing IPS/IDS, such as Fortinet/Palo Alto/Cisco FirePower
  • Experience with SNORT/YARA and signature tuning, identifying false positives
  • Troubleshooting, Planning, managing and participating in the diagnosis (current state), detailed design (future state) and deployment of security processes and technologies across CIGNA’s network
  • Create and modify shell and PERL scripts to perform routine administrative tasks
  • Manage day-to-day operational tasks
  • Hands-on experience with maintaining VMware infrastructure.
  • Facilitate teams in installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all security-related components
  • Communicating with multiple areas within IT and some business areas
  • Conflict management, problem solving, customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to ensure activities are in alignment with the business objectives and risk management framework
  • Ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems via tcpdump or wireshark
  • Support individuals in the Data and Voice Services teams working on individual projects to ensure alignment with overall security goals
  • Collaborate closely with other teams; find and leverage subject matter experts for required technical or business needs
  • Experience utilizing SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms for enterprise wide monitoring
  • Appliance health and metrics reporting
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and forming teams for security development
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with team members
Knowledge & Experience (Preferred)
  • System hardening concepts and techniques
  • Network and secure remote access controls
  • LDAP, Unix, Active Directory
  • Unix, Linux, Web application servers (WebSphere, Apache)
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, VLANS, Hypervisors)
  • Web application servers
  • In depth understanding for security event analysis and intrusion detection (IDS/IPS
  • Incident response, triage, incident analysis and remediation)
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest issues encountered and recommend an appropriate solution
  • Experience in using scripting languages automate tasks and manipulate data. Programming experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and analysis of tools such as tcpdump
  • Mastery in VPN/Firewall and other security protocols
Stakeholder and Line of Business Alignment
  • Serve point of contact for Information Protection Network Services interaction with our client Incident Response.
  • Engage and collaborate with Data/Voice teams to review our clientbusiness needs and network strategies, and prepare for necessary changes
  • Responsibility for maintaining relationships and communications with senior technology and business leaders on matters relating to network security.
