 Software Engineer/  Manager; exp'd with design patterns, Delivery, REST API's 

 As an application development manager, you will be part of a high-visibility portfolio of projects, working on leading edge initiatives such as DevOps, Continuous Delivery, Cloud solutions, SOA/Infrastructure Architecture and emerging technologies like Apache Camel, Microservices and messaging.

Your primary responsibilities will be leading a team of onshore, nearshore and offshore developers through the design and development phases of our lifecycle using contemporary tools and techniques to accelerate delivery and drive quality. Our context is Integration, connecting disparate systems across our Enterprise.
In order to be considered, you must be highly motivated, driven to succeed, have proven IT leadership skills and have demonstrated expertise in the application of software engineering principles to drive project results. In this role you will also have the opportunity to be a change agent to infuse contemporary analysis and modeling techniques into the way we design software.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for design standards and governing adherence by delivery partners
  • Accountable for ensuring all design artifacts are properly reviewed for quality using a collaborative approach that incorporates key stakeholders and memorializes artifacts appropriately
  • Responsible for partnering with requirements team to understand expected functional and non-functional behavior and to verify that proposed solution designs meet these requirements
  • Establishes best practices for solution analysis and modeling, ensures design artifacts represent contemporary techniques for high level and detailed level specification
  • Provides development guidance and direction to developers - may own some deliverables
  • Accountable for development standards and governing adherence by delivery partners
  • Responsible for working with solution architects to understand software architecture guidelines and approved design patterns
  • Participates in code reviews to ensure designs are properly implemented
  • Accountable for working with QA teams to understand solution design and related deliverables
  • Partners with QA to identify optimal test strategy, approach and plan as well as represents GSED in defect triage sessions
  • Provides impact assessment for change management
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Science and Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline is preferred
  • Prior experience designing and building web services, messaging solutions and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of contemporary design patterns including Gang of Four, Enterprise Integration Patterns
  • Knowledge of UML is a plus
  • Experience leading development teams preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with Requirements, Solution Architecture and QA disciplines
  • Familiarity with Java, Spring, GIT, Maven and other Object Oriented development languages/tools
  • Experience developing application instrumentation/monitoring models, security models and service contracts/interfaces
  • Knowledge of REST API, Microservices and other emerging SOA architecture styles
  • Desire to learn and keep current with disruptive technologies that are shaping the trajectory of the IT landscape
