SQL Application Developer

Responsibilities for this position:
  • Able to take a collaborative, analytical approach to project solutions in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Proficient with technical analysis of user stories, business rules and visual specifications to accurately size user stories
  • Able to write and edit clear and concise technical specifications
  • Comfortable collaborating with others on technical approach
  • Able to create highly maintainable solutions, within an iterative cycle
  • Able to accurately unit test own work and demo often during iterations
  • Able to solve complex technical problems e.g. troubleshooting/debugging
  • Participate in code reviews with development team
  • Willing to follow established coding standards and designs of existing systems
Skills/attributes are a must have:
  • 5 or more years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • 5 or more years of experience with relational databases specifically MS SQL Server 2008 or later using Management Studio
  • 5 or more years of experience in T-SQL, including advanced queries, views, stored procedures, or functions
  • 3 or more years application development and build management with Microsoft Access/Excel VBA, VB.Net
  • 3 or more years experience with Visual Studio
  • 2 or more years of experience working in an Agile Scrum team
  • 2 or more years of experience writing technical specifications
  • 2 or more years of experience modeling changes to an existing database
  • Must be available for after-hours releases as frequently as twice a month
  • Willingness to accept on-call responsibilities to respond to system issues
Skills/attributes are nice to have:
  • Health Insurance industry experience
  • Medicare Advantage Plan knowledge or experience
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS or SSAS
  • Experience working in a virtual team
  • Experience writing database driven browser based applications
  • Experience with C#.Net, Java, JavaScript, ASP.Net
