Application Architect

The primary responsibility of a Pharmacy Application Architect is to drive appropriate solutions for each of the Home Delivery (HD) assets. This individual will be the primary technical advisor to the Home Delivery Fulfillment team and has overall accountability for ensuring solutions are scalable, align to enterprise strategy and adhere to the Pharmacy IT Roadmap. To this end, this individual will help to make decisions about the feasibility of various options that are in alignment with strategic goals.This individual must have excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills coupled with the ability to effectively work in a highly matrixed environment and influence decisions across teams.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as Chief Technical advisor to the HD fulfillment team providing deep technical expertise of Pharmacy IT applications and technologies as well a working knowledge of enterprise offerings
  • Provides technical consultative services and critical guidance to Delivery teams on the design direction of project work and provides the final guidance on how a solution should design in the event that there is a dispute in direction
  • Provide technical expertise through a hands-on approach to teams and projects developing enterprise solutions, interfaces, and tools
  • Provide technical design leadership and thought leadership across multiple application development teams, making decisions, ensuring consistency of approach and swift resolution of cross-team issues and dependencies
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to ensure adherence in the enterprise direction and architectural strategies that has been set forth Lead and participate in the design, definition and development of process and data enterprise solutions, partnering with project managers, development teams, and analysts
  • Build effective partnerships with business and technology communities through relationship management, collaboration and information dissemination
General Qualifications
  • At least 10 plus years of recent experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting computing applications in a large-scale, midrange, and distributed environment.
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments.
  • Experienced with Agile methodology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and implement iteratively. Ability to estimate financial impact of design/architecture alternatives.
  • Proven track record of success in challenging the status quo, implementing new ideas and designs with a practical orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technologies
  • Business area subject matter expertise preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least eight, typically ten or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of four years experience application program development, or the equivalent in education and work experience.

  • Data Architecture experience
