.NET Application Engineer 

An Engineer under direct supervision of the Senior Engineer is responsible for assisting in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting IT services. This involves analyzing, configuring, testing and implementing IT services. This may also involve monitoring and controlling the performance and status of IT services. This role will also assist the Sr. Engineer in the support and maintenance of IT services. This may include evaluating and making recommendation in enhancements to the existing infrastructure. An Engineer will specialize in one of the elements of the infrastructure, such as the network, server, telephony, application, databases, etc. They will have familiarity with applications that their IT Service will impact and adhere to the established lifecycle methodology, practices and in accordance to project plans while carrying out their responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Assists senior staff in the development and maintenance of IT services for firm-wide operations. May have supervisory responsibility in instructing, assigning, directing and checking the work of the resources within their section/department.
  • Assist projects to plan, engineer, and design IT services.
  • Assist effort to evaluate, recommend, integrate and coordinate enhancements to IT services.
  • Work with IT Architects to ensure that modified IT Service interacts appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements of the service/project.
  • Provide clear operational documents and construction/support specifications to IT Operation organizations.
  • Assist effort to ensure the service/project is following corporate standards and security policies. A
  • ssist effort to develop and configure IT services from conceptualization through stabilization using various computer platforms.
  • Assist effort to test, debug, performance analyze and document IT components.
Details
  • Creating and supporting scripts and VB.NET windows forms & service applications that integrate and extend System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) with external data sources from other tools.
  • Working with Microsoft SQL Server, building SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages that import data from various external data sources (ODBC). Combining data from multiple sources and creating/publishing reports with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Creating and supporting multiple web applications and technologies written in ASP.NET using HTML5, VB.NET, JQuery, Javascript, AJAX, ADO.NET, and WCF.
  • Working knowledge of manipulating windows subsystems including modifying the registry, certificates, and software installation using PowerShell and/or .NET Framework including understanding UAC and account elevation pitfalls & techniques.
  • The ability to take vague technical requirements and produce integrated data-driven functional tools with limited direction is critical.
Qualifications
  • Deployed enterprise level windows forms applications written in .NET (VB and/or C#)
  • SQL Server Database / Reporting experience (SSIS, SSRS, TSQL)
  • Experience in database design and ETL practices
  • Cross-browser Web Application Development (ASP.NET, Javascript, JQuery, HTML5)
  • PowerShell scripting development

Desired
  • SCCM Knowledge
  • Experience with SOAP, REST, WCF
  • Understanding of XML & JSON.
  • IIS & Web server (settings & modifications)
  • ClickOnce and other software packaging & deployment technology
  • .NET VSTO, Windows & Web Services, Azure development
